Lovely Georgian Sterling Silver Old English Hanoverian Pattern Hash/Basting Spoon. Assayed in London in 1730 during the reign of King George II. This Sterling Silver Hash or Basting Spoon is in the typical Hanoverian Pattern with double-drop terminal. And tip'd up ribbed stem, is 13 7/8 in length and weighs a healthy 140 grams. This Hash Spoon is bottom-marked with 4 well-struck hallmarks. Makers' Mark'SH, heart above, pellet below' for Samuel Hutton (Grimwade 2528). Date Letter'P' for 1730 London.
