GEORGIAN STERLING SILVER BALUSTER CREAM JUG. A superb Georgian solid silver baluster cream jug with acanthus-capped scroll handle, gadrooned borders and plinth foot.
Fully hallmarked for London 1771 with lion passant to show that it is sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, and the date letter Q for 1771 - hallmarks rubbed but still legible. The jug also has a rubbed maker's mark -'S'. It stands 12cm high and weighs approximately 120g. It is in very good condition but on close inspection a few small indentations can be seen and general wear consistent with the age of the jug, which is now 250 years old.
