This piece is Hallmarked 1790 and has the makers mark for John. It also has a family crest on both sides of the tureens of a Large tree with latin. Saying " Sub Robore Virtus " which translate to two. Of Power " which is probably the one they wanted and I'm getting a another meaning of " Get Drunk & Naked which sounds like a joke from the translation site , but funny. The total weight is 1652.1 grams.
The tureen are about is approximately 5.5 tall. About 10.25 long and 4 3/8th wide. The lid's also are hallmarked , sorry no room for photo , I can send if asked. This item is in AS FOUND condition , there is a e Monogram of N.
D , on the top of both Lids , Both lids have wear to the corners where they meet up by the the handles and are not tight fitting. They are both Engraved on both sides of the Tureens with a family crest , They both have wear to the high points , which is mostly to the Engravings on each of them , which is normal wear for a item that is 227 years old.
