1823 Georgian Sterling Silver Kings Pattern Fish Slice William Chawner. Large, approximately 12 5/8 (32 cm). Pierced design on the blade.Legible hallmarks on the reverse shows this fish slice to have been made in London, England in 1823 by silversmith. The slice is in the Kings Pattern and has double sided decoration. Heavy gauge metal, the slice weights 6.92 troy ounces or 215.3 grams. Surface shows far less than expected surface wear. I suspected a monogram removal and careful examination under magnification shows there has been. The removal must have been professionally done as it is very good and hard to find. No repairs or other alterations found. I have other pieces of English silver currently listed.
Most will have been polished before the photos were taken. I do not polish other metals. All books may have an erased or penciled price on an early page. If you wish to avoid a potential slight overcharge, please, wait for my invoice.
