An attractive and beautifully made antique Georgian sterling silver tea pot made by Francis Crump and hallmarked in London 1771. It has been made with a heavy gauge of silver and is in very good condition. Their is some partial loss in places of the original gilding through polishing but the majority still exists.The pot is clearly hallmarked to the base and lid which has an urn finial. An attractive loop handle with thumbpiece and gadroon decoration. The same decoration is repeated to the upper and lower rims and also to the end of the spout. The only other decoration is an engraving of a sailing boat on each side.
