Superb George III 3 piece tea set in heavy gauge silver. Comprising teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug.
Oblong form with ball feet, teapot with silver handle and pineapple finial. Gilt interiors to bowl and jug. Each piece with silver hallmarks. Large set with dimensions as follows.
Ength (handle to spout) 26.5 cm, height (to finial) 17 cm. Sugar Bowl length (handle to handle) 18.5 cm, weight 321 g. Milk jug length (handle to spout) 14.5 cm, weight 201 g. Crowned leopard's head: London. Teapot and jug, date letter M and George's head:1807.
Sugar bowl, date letter L and George's head:1806. Silversmith: William Hall (clear on teapot, part legible on bowl and jug). Teapot hallmarked to main body and underside of lid.(hallmark photos: for teapot photos 5,6,7, bowl 9, jug 11). General condition excellent with just some light surface marks. Small repair just above one foot on teapot, hardly noticeable, more visible on inside - see photo 2, front foot. Silver surface quality generally superb with rich patina. Teapot hinge good, lid fits well, pours well, no leaks. Gilding inside bowl and jug still strong. No engravings and no erasures. The quality of the silver and craftsmanship is of the highest order.
