Superb 18th century George III solid sterling silver mug/tankard. Baluster form with large scroll handle and raised footed base. Hand crafted using planishing technique. Georgian contemporary marriage initials to handle. No other engravings and no erasures.
Height 12.5 cm, top rim diameter 8.5 cm, bottom rim diameter 9 cm. Crowned leopard's head and 3 castles: Newcastle. Silversmith's mark: John Langlands I & John Robertson I. A little light compression denting to top of handle.
Condition otherwise exceptionally good both inside and out with just light marks. No repairs, no splits, no leaks, fully usable.
