Presented is an antique, English sterling silver strainer serving spoon made in London in 1810 by Mary & Elizabeth Sumner. This Georgian, early 19th century piece is done in a classic form and the front of the handle has a finely engraved crest of a bare chested man holding a key in one hand and a dagger in the other. This is the Murray family crest.

The bowl has a raised, removable strainer portion in the center. The back is marked with the crowned leopard's head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter P for the year 1810 and a maker's mark for Mary & Elizabeth Sumner.
