Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. Here today for your consideration we have this wonderful Georgian sterling silver squat-form teapot of exceptional gauge, made by noted silversmith William Eaton of London, c-1825. This delightful piece features a very understated form and oversized timber handle, with bold lines and simple style throughout. Condition is good used, with damage limited to some minor lifting of the lid and the main hallmarks worn due to their curious placement on the central collar.
The finial appears to be a later replacement and is a little loose, whilst the handle remains tight and well finished. The standout of this teapot is the exceptional gauge and weight, unsurprising for this incredible quality maker. Add it to your collection today! The teapot stands 11.5cm tall measuring 24cm handle-to-spout.
Unpacked, it weighs in at a substantial 700gms even. To see my other items! If you would like to view this item or any other, please don't hesitate to contact me.
