You're looking at my fantastic Georgian paste earrings. It's rare to find a pair of earrings that have survived from Georgian times, which is why they command such a price. The screw back to this pair is a later edition I think, probably in the 1920s to 30s. They're sterling silver and set with beautifully sparkly paste stones. Georgian paste is high lead content glass which sparkles wonderfully and gives the impression of diamonds. One of the earrings is slightly longer (by 0.2 cm) than the other but identical in design- I'm assured this can be common as the Georgians and Victorians would often make jewellery from other pre-existing pieces and this pair was probably a necklace or the like once upon a time. It's hardly noticeable, and certainly won't be evident when worn in my opinion. Measurements (H x W x D): 3.6 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm OR 1.4 x 0.3 x 0.2 inches. Weight (together): 6.27 grams.
