E Coker John Carter II RARE Antique Sterling Candlestick Set/3 Georgian III Circa 1770. RARE Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks. These are either by Ebenezer Coker or John Carter II.
The mark is a little hard read and I have been advised that they could be John Carter II. John Carter was a specialist candlestick and salver maker in the second half of the 18th century. Some of his candlesticks were designed by Robert Adam. No dents, chips or cracks. Measures almost 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" across the base.
The set weighs 3.8 lbs (Prior to Packaging). The marks are harder to read on 2 of the candlesticks. Ebenezer Coker worked from 1738 to 1783. He was in partnership with Thomas Hannam from 1759 to 1760.
Everything that Ebenezer Coker has ever made has always been of extremely high quality. Check out the Coker samovar that I have also listed. It is a very RARE example of his work. Most items that are found are candlesticks and salvers.
