To the stem, there are a number of dents, bruises and dints. The most noticeable are a 1cm long dent near the top and two 5mm long ones a bit further round. In addition, there are about 9 small dints in various other places. To the plain section at the top of the base there are 2 dents and a dint which produce a visible area of bruising about 2.5cm (1) long.A bit further round, there is a light 5mm line bruise and, overall, another 5 dints. These things make areas of the base appear dimpled. To the fluting around the base, there are 2 pea-sized dents and a smaller dent to another. The edge of the base has a few dints and dinks. The sconce fits nice and securely in its cup and has no damage except to the bottom edge of the inner sleeve where a section has bent over slightly. However, the top of the sconce cup has suffered a knock and 2 areas bow down. Only one of these is visible when the sconce is in place but can only really be seen from underneath. The material covering the base is secure but very stained and it has worn away from the edge on one side.
