This is a Rare and Stunning piece of Georgian British Silver. Made by Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard I in Solid Sterling Silver it is a Heavy Jug that I believe was made to serve Cream but could also be a Sauce Jug as there is a Silver piece across the top of the spout to avoid splashing. It is beautifully decorated with a leaf pattern to the base and handle, a flower and leaf pattern around the bottom half and a scrollwork and ridged design to the spout. It is Fully Hallmarked on the outside with RE EB for the Maker's Mark, the Lion Passant Mark for Silver, the Leopard's Head Mark for London Assay Office, the Date Letter h for 1823, the Duty Mark for George IV and it has been electronically tested at a precious metal refinery to confirm the Silver Purity. It weighs 139g, measures 8.4cm high, and is 5.9cm diameter at both the top and bottom.
