Georgian Sterling Silver Coasters by Paul Storr, 1800s. An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George III English sterling silver coasters made by Paul Storr; an addition to our range of collectable silverware. These exceptional antique George III sterling silver coasters have a circular rounded shaped form. The body of each Georgian coaster is embellished with convex embossed fluted decoration with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with alternating Regency style leaf designs to the upper shaped rim. These silver bottle coasters have turned oak wood bases with a central silver button.
These coasters retain the original fabric covering to the underside. These antique Paul Storr silver coasters are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The applied and embossed decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are very clear; the nature of the coaster dictates the location of the hallmarks to the rim of the base.In many extant coasters, because of this, the hallmarks may become very worn and illegible. In this instance however the hallmarks remain very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Georgian silverware.
