Hester Bateman Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Creamer Jug 1789
This is a lovely antique Georgian sterling silver creamer made by Hester Bateman and hallmarked in London 1789. It is in very good condition and has rich internal gilding. It sits on a raised circular base and is decorated to the body, base and handle with a variety of patterns.

The decoration includes an ornate and vacant cartouche. Overall a fine and attractive creamer or milk jug. Hester Bateman was the matriarch of the famous Bateman family of silversmiths and this creamer must have been made in the last year of her working life before she retired and handed over the business to her two sons, Peter and Jonathan in 1790.
