A superb quality coffee Biggin by Paul Storr, substantial in size and weight. This one was assayed in London in 1808. Paul Storr was probably the most significant English Silversmith of the 1800's. This piece is beautifully decorated with serpentine tails on the cover and heads on the body with Ivory bodies forming the handles. The burner lid has been replaced at some point and is unmarked. This is a commonplace occurrence with burner lids. The piece meets CITES and current ivory laws having been manufactured in 1808.
In addition it will meet the proposed laws by being both a piece of historical importance and the Ivory being less than 10 % of the piece by volume. Weight is a hefty 1591 grams.Due to the value and nature of this item we will send it by recorded signed for post. It will be sent with 3 days of receipt of cleared funds.
