Paul Storr Large Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Meat Dish Platter 1814
This is a superb and substantial antique Georgian sterling silver meat platter/plate made by Paul Storr and hallmarked in London 1814. It is in very good condition with only minor surface usage marks. Of oval shape the rim has a gadroon decoration. The platter has been made with a heavy gauge of silver (67 ozs) and sits firmly.
Paul Storr is regarded as the finest English silversmith of the 19th century and was silversmith to a succession of Kings and other royalty. A platter of high quality. (NB any shadows shown in the photographs are merely reflections). Weight 1850 gms (67 ozs). Length 48.5 cms (19 ins).
