DESCRIPTION: The price is for one serving spoon. This Irish Sterling Silver piece is from the Georgian period and is quite scarce.It is an Irish Provincial Sterling silver 9 1/2 spoon. Irish Provincial pieces are pretty scarce and very collectible. This piece was made by John Tolekin of Cork. Dates to the late 18th Century to very early 19th Century.
The piece is hallmarked on reverse with "Tolekin" and "STERLING"(pic #4). Simple piece with an engraved steer head crest on the front (pic #2). This large 9 1/2 serving spoon is guaranteed over 200 years old. Antique over 200 years old.Has small dents, dings in well. Front edge of spoon a little sharp from wear. Upon close inspection you may notice scratches and wear from normal use and age. A silversmith should be able to smooth out the dents in the bowl pretty easily.
