Superb Georgian sterling silver hot chocolate pot, fully hallmarked for London 1799. This is a very fine quality and elegant silver hot chocolate pot made in the reign of King George III by William Stroud in London 1799. The chocolate pot has a pull off lid with ball finial above domed fluted decoration and a gadrooned border. The chocolate pot has straight sides with pouring spout to the front and handle to the back.
The body of the hot chocolate pot has fluted decoration to the lower half. The hot chocolate pot is 5-1/2 inches / 140 mm wide to the back of the handle, 3-1/4 inches / 82 mm deep and it stands 5 inches / 127 mm tall. The chocolate pot weighs an impressive 367 grams. The chocolate pot has clear hallmarks - lion passant, London mark, duty mark, letter D for 1799 and maker's mark WS for William Stroud. The chocolate pot is in excellent condition with no dents, damage or repair.
